So I was done with my Ph.D, and I thought I knew how to ‘convert’ my doctoral dissertation to a book.
Not so.
A year went by, and I was still doing nominal changes, tweaking a few words here and there, but really, I didn’t know how to rewrite for a “real” audience (other than my academic committee) that has to be convinced of the value of what I have to say.
A colleague at my university said to contact Serene.
Several weeks of working with her later, and I have sent out book proposals to publishers.
